Overview of Vang Vieng

Vang Vieng is a tourism-oriented town in Laos, located in Vientiane Province about four hours bus ride north of the capital. The town lies on the Nam Song river. The most notable feature of the area is the karst hill landscape surrounding the town.

In these pages you will find a month by month description of the weather, with data on rainfall, rain patterns and comfort levels (heat and humidity) measured at our Siem Reap office. Pure rainfall measurements in millimeters are not terribly useful for the prospective visitor so we have recorded more meaningful data like “the probability of any rain on a day” so that you can better plan your stay.
